Beata E. Golec is a pianist, composer and educator. She was born in Gliwice, Poland as a first child of Alicja and Dariusz Golec. Beata started playing piano at age 7, and at age 13 decided to pursue cello studies as well. Beata’s first compositions were written at age 13, but the official recognition for her as a composer came three years later- in 1997, when she received an award for “Fantazja Polska” for piano and cello at the “Patri Patriae” All-Polish Composers Competition for a piece dedicated to Pope John Paul II. “Fantazja Polska” premiered at Ars Cameralis Silesiae Superioris Festival in 1997 (Katowice, Poland) by Beata E. Golec and Miroslaw Makowski. The score of the piece is currently kept in Vatican.
