Drama Institute workshops are led by experts in current practices and philosophies of theatre and arts education, endorsed by academic departments at UW-Madison, and address Teacher Standards and professional development requirements for educators. While providing specific tools that allow the educator to face challenges in the classroom and rehearsal process, each class directly focuses on the ability to collaborate with peers and education professionals and provides evidence of activities related to goals that apply to classrooms or learning communities.

Description:	Summer Drama Institute - Continuing education for theatre educators
	Join other directors, designers and theatre educators for an intensive one week workshop where participants will receive concentrated instruction detailing all design areas of theatre production. This “design sampler” includes the basic elements of designing lights, sound, costume and set with an overview of production management. Information will be gathered on participant’s backgrounds, skill levels and professional/volunteer situations prior to the start of the workshop in order to tailor course curriculum and activities to participant’s individual learning needs. This week is a must for all high school directors and community designers!
