The process of creating the original pen and ink illustrations begins first in pencil on 14" x 17" Strathmore acid-free paper. Every drawing starts with both a horizontal and a vertical line and the illustration blossoms outward from the center. After several years of illustrating, I have been able to assimilate the scale of the building which I undertake from the photograph.
