A detailed history of the SCE, including its formative stages and its many conferences and projects over the years is available in an extended history we compiled for the MLA. Access to this history is available here. In 2007, after almost two decades at Case Western Reserve University, the Society issued a Call for Proposals for a new institutional home for the organization. From July 2008, the Society will be administered from the University of Houston-Victoria, with Jeffrey DiLeo as Executive Director.
