Me & Martha (a.k.a. Don DePoy & Martha Hills) bring their passion for music and master musicianship to the stage. They are truly "picking it up & carrying on the rich tradition of Music Making from Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley..." Their program weaves together a history of song, story and instrument. Playing banjo, guitar, bass fiddle, fiddle, mountain dulcimer, autoharp, mandolin, and Dobro, the program brings traditional mountain music alive. Whether the song is from antebellum or a present day ditty students will delight to the rousing performance that encourages audience participation at every turn. The presentation meets many of the SOLs requirements. Martha and Don are members of America’s Old-Time Country Music Hall of Fame and professional educators. Don is a 5th generation music maker and holds a Ph.D. in American Music and Popular Culture.

	As 2005 inductees into the Old Time Country Music Hall Of Fame, we continue the tradition of keeping the music of the past alive. For the most part the music we play is anywhere from 30 to 300 years old and represent songs from the Appalachian regions, folk and bluegrass standards, and an occasional sea shanty. We pick songs that tell about the many untold stories of life. Some songs are peppy and happy while others tell of human weakness and tragedy.
