The International Manga Association (I.M.A.) is an independent association created in 2000. It publishes comic books, mangas and graphic novels initialy connected to Japan in collaboration with Japanese artists. More recently we extended our editorial line to young artists from all over the world who are either starting a career and have therefore difficulties in getting their work published. Our aim is to present various styles from all over the world and to gain an insight into different cultures with a preference for Japan. Our first book, Visions of Japan, was published in three languages (English, Japanese and French) and is a satiric view of Japan and its culture. All our publications are unconventional either in the style of the drawing or in the topic addressed. Far from super-heroes and mass product comic books, our graphic novels are limited editions (sometimes no more than 50 copies are printed). In addition, our books are printed in a professional manner (i.e. no photocopy).

Description: International Manga Association (I.M.A.)
We also translated and published a compendium presenting the work of contemporary British artists. We hope that through our efforts and using a media such as comics (manga/BD) friendly and cultural relationships could be established between artists and readers from different countries. We believe that IMA's books allow readers to discover unique style and future stars of this art too often considered by some as kids' product. Our non-profit association is based in France and is managed by benevolent passionate people (i.e. they contribute in a way or another for free). The aim of the I.M.A. is not to make profit but to share our passion with as many people as possible (not so easy in this capitalist world). It is only through the sales of our publications that we can continue to publish new artists. Thank you for your support.
