The H.E.L.P. site was launched in 1996 by Elizabeth Sommers, with the assistance of Patrick Galloway, to help humanities teachers and students learn how to use computer technologies such as the Internet, the WWW, scholarly lists, hypertext, groupware, conferencing capabilities. It is a mosaic, a web spun by many weavers--faculty members and students, computer professionals and writers--meant to provide a navigational guide to the many new resources available to scholars in the Humanities.
