Company Youplaboum is comprised of a plastic arts specialist, Loran Pottier, who studied at the Beaux-Arts in Angers, and who applies his craft to a certain form of live performance, principally in parade form. From the first few simple puppets to the five elaborate machines of today, from the first few floats built for the Carnival in Angers, to the thirty odd floats built in 2010, Youplaboum has developed a unique and imaginative style of its own, both mocking and temperamental, mixing giant forms with a surprising proximity to the audience.

As comfortable in carnivals as puppetry festivals, in village squares as well as international street art festivals, the joyful parades of Youplaboum are ambitious in the best sense: hoping to make hearts pound, and smiles flash, and as the road unwinds, to awaken the senses, even if only for a heartbeat.
