Designer, Manufacturer and Distributor of Bunka Embroidery kits. Importer of Authentic Japanese Bunka Embroidery. Lines carried include BunkaCraft, Tokyo Bunka and Matsuhato. We supply all materials used in the art of Bunka, including punch needles and rayon thread. Darlene Cormier, the owner of BunkaCraft Embroidery Co., began stitching and teaching 30 years ago. As one of the first people in North America to learn this art form, she holds an Advanced Teacher's Certificate from the Canadian Bunka Embroidery Association and is a past "Threadpainters" franchise holder.

BunkaCraft The Canadian designer and manufacturer of bunka embroidery kits. Also known as Bunka shishu, thread painting and Japanese punch embroidery, we offer kits, punch needles, and accessories. In the early 1980s Darlene introduced the art of Bunka Embroidery into the continuing education program of the Scarborough Board of Education, and taught night classes at Albert Campbell Collegiate. She has taught for the Markham Arts Centre, Byron Creative Club and has also given many lessons in her studios in the Toronto and London areas. Her work has been the subject of newspaper articles and has been showcased on several television programs including Japanese Panorama and Arts Scarborough.
