MELISSA BARTLETT has been working in pastels professionally for 18 years, and is known for her vibrant and intense colors. She has won national awards including a Best In Show at the Meeker International Trial show in 2007 and Award of Merit the AKC Eukanuba Art Show. She has been juried into such prestigious shows as the Pastel Society of New Mexico, the International Exhibition of Animals in Art, the Duck Stamp Contest, the Art Show at The Dog Show and others. “I try to capture the effects of light and color of the New Mexico landscape, animals and flowers. My style is impressionistic and I attempt to evoke an emotional response rather than strive for photographic realism,” says Melissa.
